Fit and design

What makes a MODI cap different from a normal cap?

Most caps are designed as if everyone’s head and ears are the same. MODI caps use a subtle arched cut out in the side profile that follows the top of the ear, instead of sitting over it. That means less pressure, less ear crush and a more natural, comfortable fit, without changing your usual streetwear style.

How does the arched ear design actually work?

The arch creates space where most caps press down. By letting the cap sit around the top of your ear rather than on it, you reduce pressure points, flared out ears and that I cannot wait to take this off feeling at the end of the day. It looks like a small design tweak, but it makes a big difference in comfort.

How do I know if a MODI cap will suit me?

If you have ever tried on a cap and thought this would be perfect if it did not crush my ears, MODI is for you. The arch has a bit of flex built into the shape, so it works with different ear heights and positions. Some people notice an immediate oh, that feels better moment; others just realise they have worn it all day without thinking about it. If you like a clean 5 panel cap and value comfort, it will suit you.

Is the cap only for people with ear issues?

Not at all. The design was born from ear discomfort, but it benefits anyone who wears caps regularly. It simply feels better for most people, whether your ears stick out, sit close to your head, or you never thought about them until you put on a standard cap that did not feel quite right.

Does it work with glasses and sunglasses?

Yes. The extra space created by the arch gives your glasses or sunglasses arms more room to sit naturally. That means less fighting between your cap and your frames, fewer pressure points at the temples and a more stable, comfortable fit for everyday wear and driving.

Can I wear headphones or earmuffs with it?

Yes. Over ear headphones and earmuffs often clash with the sides of a standard cap. The MODI arch gives them more room to sit in place, so you get a cleaner, more comfortable fit for work, travel, music, gaming or yard work.

Is it good for people with sensory sensitivities?

Many people with sensory sensitivities find standard caps too tight or overwhelming around the ear area. The MODI arch reduces that pressure and gives a softer, less squashed feeling, which can make headwear more tolerable for longer periods. Everyone is different, but comfort and reduced pressure were key design goals from day one.

Can I wear it with piercings or hearing devices?

Yes. The extra space around the ear can help reduce rubbing and pressure on earrings and some hearing devices. Comfort will always depend on your individual setup, but the design is intended to give more room, not less.

 

Sizing and fit

What size is the MODI 5 Panel Cap?

The MODI 5 Panel Cap is one size with an adjustable back closure. It is designed to fit most adult head sizes comfortably and ranges from 56-62cm in head circumference.

How do I measure my head for a MODI cap?

Use a soft tape measure and wrap it around your head where a cap normally sits, just above your eyebrows and over the bump at the back of your head. Note the measurement in centimetres and compare it to our size guide when it is live. If you are usually fine in standard adult caps, you will most likely be fine in MODI too, with more comfort around the ears.

Is the cap unisex?

MODI caps are designed with a clean, modern shape that can be worn by anyone, but this first release is primarily fitted around a typical men’s head shape and proportions, especially with the arched ear design. Some women and teens will still find a comfortable fit, but we know not every head is the same. We are already working on women’s and children’s fits to bring the same MODI comfort and arch design to a wider range of sizes in future drops.

What colours are available?

The MODI 5 Panel Cap currently comes in four colourways, Obsidian black, Deep Navy, Forest Green and Sandstone beige. Each has the same arched design and fit, so you can choose based on your style and wardrobe.

MODI caps are designed in Australia with a focus on real world comfort, clean streetwear styling and everyday wearability. We partner with trusted manufacturers to bring the design to life, then test and refine fit before releasing any new product.

How should I care for my MODI cap?

To keep your cap in the best condition, spot clean gently with a damp cloth and mild detergent, avoid soaking, machine washing or tumble drying, do not bleach, and allow it to air dry away from direct heat. This helps maintain the shape, fabric and embroidery so your cap lasts longer.

Where do you ship from?

Do you ship internationally?

How long will my order take to arrive?

Returns and exchanges

What if the cap does not fit or I change my mind?

What if my cap arrives damaged or faulty?

If your order arrives damaged or faulty, please contact us as soon as possible with your order number and photos. We will assess the issue and repair, replace or refund in line with Australian Consumer Law and our Returns and Exchanges Policy.
